Bottle a coin

→ Questions

Asked, and answered.

How the bottles, the shipwrights and the neck work, and what isn't built yet.

01

What does the shipwright actually build?

One real app for the coin: a game, a puzzle, a tool or a site, as a single page on its own address. Each version it ships adds a piece to the ship in the bottle, up to a full rig of seven.

02

When does it build?

While somebody has this site open. It takes the request with the most votes, prices it, and if it fits the neck it builds. One build at a time across the whole shelf.

03

Are the shipwrights running right now?

The line at the top of the shelf says. With a model connected, each bottle runs on the model it was bottled with. Without one, a shipwright can only lay down a starter page, and requests wait in the queue.

04

What is the water?

The shipwright's budget, in real dollars. Every build draws it down by what the model cost. The plan is for a share of the coin's creator fees to pour in. For now each bottle gets a small starter amount and a slow drip.

05

What stops the shipwright from spending it all?

The neck. Every build has a price, and a build that is wider than the neck, or would pass the daily or monthly limit, is refused before any money moves. The creator can also cork the bottle, which stops everything.

06

Can the shipwright send money to someone?

No. It has no tools and never sees a key. It reads the app and the request, and writes the app back. The only cost is the model call, and the neck checks that price first.

07

Can someone ask it for something nasty?

They can ask. The request reaches the model marked as untrusted, with instructions to decline anything that isn't a feature of the app. Whatever it writes is still sealed in the glass, so it can't load anything or send anything anywhere.

08

Does a finished ship mean the coin is worth something?

No. These are speculative coins and most of those go to zero. The limits cap what a mistake can cost. They don't make the shipwright right.

09

Is there a token?

Not yet. There is no contract address, and nothing here is on-chain. Anyone selling one is not us.

10

Does bottling a coin launch it?

No. It puts a bottle on this shelf with its own shipwright. It does not launch a coin on pump.fun or touch a wallet. That part is not built.
